The Finishing Touches

Dear Reformation Hope Partners,

By the grace of God and generous giving from many of you, we have broken the 91% mark in our New Joy House orphanage fundraising campaign. The construction is surging ahead with all the blocks in place, the roofs finished, and ceramic tile being laid on the floors. Our second container made it safely to Haiti filled with interior and exterior paint and many other items needed to complete the project. Due to the generosity of Dixie Salvage and Kudzu Millworks, we now are preparing a third container to leave for Haiti this Friday with more than 60 windows, kitchen appliances, cabinets, countertops, landscaping tools, and more paint. We are now so very close to our goal of a beautiful new home for our children.

However, we are still about $70,000 away from reaching our fully-funded goal to open the New Joy House. You may wonder with all that has been given and with all the materials we have sent to help our Haitian partners, why do we still need more funding? The simple answer is, the finishing touches. I do not mean added luxuries, but rather, the final finishing work that must be done by skilled Haitian laborers. We must still pay masons to stucco the interior and exterior walls and prepare them for painting (all five buildings). We need an electrician and a plumber to perform final installations within the dorms and kitchen area, and then we will have several painters working on the interiors and exteriors of the new orphanage buildings. There are a variety of other labor-intensive jobs we must get done before we open on November 13th.

And so we are prayerfully asking all of you, as our regular partners in this ministry, to please do three things for us:

1. Please be regularly in prayer for the Lord's final provision to finish New Joy House.

2. Consider making one more investment of any amount toward the finishing touches for the orphanage and its opening in November.

3. Let others you think might be interested know about this project, which is now so very close to completion.

We continue to be in awe of what God has accomplished through each of you in working His will and fulfilling His kingdom mission to the people of Haiti.
