New Joy House Now Open, Children Moved In!

Thank you all for partnering with us in supporting the construction of the New Joy House orphanage. The new home for our children opened a couple of weeks ago and the children are safely moved into their beautiful new home! This great blessing for our Haitian children would never have been possible without the generous and sacrificial giving of so many of you, our partners in this kingdom mission. We hope you enjoy the photos showing our children exploring their brand new dormitories and future playground area. As you can see, Jean Paul and his team still have work to do in landscaping, with plans for decorative gardens, cultivated gardens, and also a series of playing fields for the children.

The Need?

As is so often the case, when we expanded the orphanage capacity by building a new facility, we also increased our monthly operating costs. And so we are in need of an additional $4,000 more per month than was needed in our older and smaller facility. This increased amount in necessary for accommodating additional children, adding more house parents, and also supporting one Haitian government social services staff person (now required by Haitian national law in compliance with the Hague Standards). If you would like to sponsor a child in our New Joy House monthly, or assist us with the costs of the additional staff, you can make a designated contribution through PayPal. Also, through our Easy Tithe link you can set up regular monthly giving.

Jacmel Church Plant Seeking a Permanent Place to Worship

Many of you know that Pastor Jean Paul and his team planted a church some years ago along the southern coast of Haiti in the area of Jacmel. This center of arts, recreation, and Voodoo practice desperately needs to be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church planted in Jacmel now has about 200 people regularly in worship and are led by Pastor Maxito, a recent graduate of our Bible college and a native of the Jacmel area.

The Need?

The church continues to grow and has long outgrown its present, temporary place of worship in a converted carpenter's home. Only about 50 can squeeze into the covered space and the rest must worship outside in the rain or scorching sun. Reformation Hope is seeking to partner with Souls Winning Ministries and Pastor Maxito to raise the needed funds to purchase a building site and then begin construction on a church sanctuary and multiple purpose building. The estimated total cost will be $435,000. We have also learned that the government of Haiti now offers title insurance to protect people investing in land and building projects in that nation. If you would like to invest in this church plant development project, please use our giving link and designate your giving as "Jacmel Church Plant."

Coming Soon

In the next two months, we will also bring you news about the next Bible college class preparations, the success of the restaurant at the new compound, the new missionary guest house facility, and news about the three children in the orphanage graduating high school this year and heading off to college in the Dominican Republic.
