Property behind Compound

Orphanage Expansion
Now a Possibility

The landowner directly behind our Reformation Hope ministry center in La Plaine offered to sell his land to us last month. With a total investment of $75,000, plus $2,000 – $3,000 for legal fees and transfer of registration of ownership, we can in effect double the size of our center of operations, add much-needed green space for our children, and provide undeveloped acreage for expanding our orphanage. If every church in our present ministry partnership invests $4,000, Reformation Hope will reach the funding total for doubling the size of our ministry base. Would you challenge your church to invest $4,000 in helping us achieve our goal?

Pacific Crossroads Church Furthers Micro-finance in Haiti

A team of seven ministry partners from Pacific Crossroads Church (PCC) in Santa Monica, California recently returned from a trip to our La Plaine, Haiti mission base. Their visit was designed to collect detailed business vision profiles from the young men in the Timothy Leadership Project in order to develop micro-finance profiles for prospective U.S. investors. PCC micro-finance members met with Zafen (www.zafen.org), a Haiti-based micro-finance organization, seeking to partner with them for strengthening Reformation Hope’s own efforts in micro-lending. The Pacific Crossroads trip also provided the team with insight into the final stages of the Croix-de-Bouquets restaurant project, scheduled to have its grand opening the week of Easter. Pacific Crossroads will be posting profiles of these young entrepreneurs soon. They will also be doing follow-up visits to our compound in June and in the fall to conduct additional micro-business training for the program participants.

The Pacific Crossroads team was blessed to get a sneak peek of the restaurant with Pastor Jean Paul. The restaurant is located in an area that has quite a few banks and businesses.

Restaurant Project Nearing Completion and Grand Opening!

The American-style restaurant project in Croix-de-Bouquets is scheduled to open in less than three weeks! Work continues on the kitchen equipment and obtaining tableware and utensils. Flooring and painting have been completed and a large sign for the city square frontage has been ordered. Reformation Hope’s total investment in this project has now reached $35,000, toward our total goal of $45,000. Investment is still needed in this project, which will regularly employ at least 20 Haitian men and women connected with our ministry.
